Improving your Operational Security in the world of cryptocurrency is a must. This is because in most cases, you and you alone have custody over your assets. 

For Chia this is no different. Since many new farmers used third-party software for plotting, there is a large chance of (un)knowingly having exposed their private keys. Especially when you are co-farming [[guides:forks| Chia Forks]].

We will give you some tips that help your improve the security of your farming operation:

  - Do not install third-party software that you did not check yourself
  - etc


Keep in mind that these tips are not exaustive and that you need to inform yourself about possible ways you may lose your assets and how to solve this.
