===== Chia Forks =====

On this page, we'll list all the important forks of Chia. In some cases, these forks require action from farmers. Please read carefully to understand the impact on your farm.

==== Block 5.496.000 - Plot filter reduction ====

On June 13th, 2024, the plot filter hard fork will be activated. Farmers using __**Chia 2.0.1 or older**__ will not be able to farm after the fork.

This fork changes the plot filter size, significantly impacting farmers using compressed plots by doubling the load to find proofs. If your farm struggles with the increased load, consider the following options:

* Remove plots or hard drives from your farm
  * Add more CPU/GPU power
  * Raise the pool difficulty, depending on your plots and compression level
  * Replot to a lower compression level

After the fork, twice as many plots will be eligible to find proofs, resulting in submitting twice as many partials to the pool. The pool will adjust your difficulty, but if you are using a fixed difficulty, please change it to a safe number to prevent overloading your farm after the fork.
